Summer Abukhodeir is a second-generation Palestinian American who was born in a small town located in Central Florida called Lake Wales. Shortly after graduation, Summer was accepted to the University of South Florida for her undergraduate studies. At the age of just 19, Summer was accepted into the USF College of Nursing, making her the youngest of her class. Shortly thereafter, Summer started her nursing career at Lakeland Regional Medical center in their Emergency/Trauma Department working full-time, all while receiving her Nurse Practitioner degree from USF. Graduating Summa Cum Laude of her class, making the Dean’s list for the USF CON and receiving numerous scholarships along the way, Summer decided to accept a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner degree shortly after graduation in 2016. Summer is now working on her second Master’s degree in Family Medicine and is a devoted employee of Opes Health. Summer is licensed to practice in the state of Florida by the ANCC and has her BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications. Summer’s medical interests include helping the greater good, treating those in need and hoping to make a difference in today’s society by offering the best care to her patients. Summer is bilingual in both English and Arabic, and also enjoys traveling the world, eating, dancing and of course spending time with those who matter most to her, her family.
